Day 49

Day 49

The War is Over.

A little over two thousand years ago, Jesus was crucified. Three days later he was resurrected. He arose victorious; over sin, death, sickness, poverty and all powers of darkness and evil.

Jesus took everything to the cross – all our sin, our struggles, diseases and addictions. He paid the price so that we don’t have to. All we have to do is believe and receive. We don’t have to strive to achieve anything; we simply have to rest in Jesus.

Two thousand years ago all your battles against food and weight were won. You already have victory, the war is over. You don’t have to fight anymore.

We have had many wars in our history. Many times, after a war was over, there would be stories of small groups of people still fighting. There were five possible reasons for this;
1. News that the war was over had not reached them.
2. They heard the news that the war was over, but they didn’t believe it.
3. They heard the news that the war was over, but didn’t understand that meant they had to stop fighting.
4. They heard the news and believed it, but didn’t agree with it, so they carried on fighting anyway.
5. They heard the news and believed it, but didn’t know what else to do with their lives. They carried on fighting because it was what they did and who they were.

Jesus has won the war for you. IT IS OVER! YOU ARE VICTORIOUS!

If you are still trying to fight your war against food, then it must be because of one of the above reasons, or maybe a combination of more than one. Look carefully at the above list. What is your stance? Do you understand that the war is over and it’s time to stop fighting? You see, the problem is; if you still keep fighting then you are not walking in victory or enjoying peace and rest.

I am somebody that likes a good night’s sleep. I am very protective about my sleep time; I need a minimum of eight hours, but prefer nine. I sometimes think about how awful it must have been during the Second World War, going to bed at night, never knowing if the sirens were going to go off because the bombers were on their way. It must have been very difficult after the war was over to settle at night, knowing that it was okay now. No more bombers were going to come, they could sleep in peace. I’m sure some people never really slept well again. However, many decent men gave their lives so that people could live in peace and sleep again.

Jesus did this for you. He gave his life so that you could rest peacefully. It’s time to start walking this out.

Everyday

Proclaim:   I am a victor not a victim. Jesus has won the war for me. Food no longer controls me. I have victory over it. Thank you Jesus.
